League: Paulsgrove Baptist Church 2 - 3 TESTWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH

Testwood kicked off their first league game of 1991 looking for important away points. Unfortunately after 15 minutes, a deflection from a Paulsgrove player's knee, saw the ball fly into the back of the Testwood net.
Testwood were soon back in the hunt when a good ball from Dave Brider sent ROGER FRAPWELL clear, and he finished with clinical accuracy - score 1-1.
Testwood pressed for a quick second goal, and after several missed chances, JON BUSS opened his account with a superb shot from eight yards! More pressure was applied and from a corner and RICH OAG made it 3-1 with a volley just inside the box.

Half-time: Paulsgrove Baptist Church 1 - 3 TESTWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH

Testwood were confident in gaining an away victory after this first half performance, but the second half had some surprises in store! Paulsgrove pushed men forward and forced Shaun Sweeney into some vital saves. Soon Testwood were pinned back into their own half and a shot from the edge of the box took a "wicked deflection" off the unfortunate Rich Bisson and flew into the net, leaving the score 3-2 to Testwood.
But disaster was soon to strike! A through ball for Paulsgrove saw Testwood's Roy Walton and goalkeeper Shaun Sweeney clash as they both went for the ball. Shaun was taken by ambulance to hospital where it was revealed that he had fractured his collar-bone.
With only nine minutes to play, due to the serious injury to the Testwood 'keeper, Paulsgrove very sportingly conceded the game.

Final score: Paulsgrove Baptist Church 2 - 3 TESTWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH

Man-of-the-Match went to Shaun Sweeney for some fine and brave saves.
